A floating spine staircase with folded-plate treads and a raw lacquered finish.
The architect wanted a staircase that looked like a single folded ribbon of steel. We rolled the spine from 20mm plate and welded each tread with hidden fixings so no bolt heads show.
Every weld was dressed and blended by hand before the whole piece was lacquered to keep the mill-scale colour.
